We are a group of community minded individuals who are committed to supporting the Peace Region. Whether through volunteer efforts, sitting on a board of directors for Non-Profit organizations, providing monetary gifts, silent auction donations, or matching staff donations we want to encourage a culture of giving back.

Grande Prairie Chrysler Stompede Breakfast – The last Friday of every May Grande Prairie Chrysler kicks up their heels and heats up the showroom with a full pancake breakfast for everyone to enjoy. Serving up to 800 guests the staff at Grande Prairie Chrysler crack up over 1300 eggs, flip over 1000 pancakes, bbq up 40 cases of sausages and pour over 100 liters of OJ. Each year a non-profit charity is chosen for all breakfast donations to be given to. In the past charities like Helping Hands Society, Mental Health, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Canadian Diabetes Association and Servants Anonymous have been recipients of the pancake breakfast donations.
The Grande Prairie Auto Group made a monetary donation of $500.00 in support of the Ronald McDonald House in Northern Alberta. All Ronald McDonald Houses are independently owned and operated non-profit organizations. Ronald McDonald House® Northern Alberta (RMHNA) is the only facility in Edmonton and the surrounding area that provides temporary and affordable accommodation for families whose children are being treated in one of Edmonton’s medical facilities. The 42,000 square foot RMHNA features 32 private family suites and provides a home-away-from-home for families coming to Edmonton to seek treatment for their sick child. The staff and hundreds of volunteers provide some meals, activities and support to the families staying at the House.
The Grande Prairie Auto Group has partnered with the United Way Alberta Northwest on a several different campaigns and community challenges. Our staff and management are committed to continuing to support this local chapter. The United Way Alberta Northwest gives our citizens and families the opportunity to reach their potential and improve quality of life. This is done by supporting several local registered charities in and around the Peace Region. Assisting with funding in programs that can teach conflict resolution skills to a high-risk family, enable a senior to live independently or help a high-school student stay in school and graduate. United Way’s impact is local, tangible, and meaningful. They rely on a diverse group to achieve positive outcomes in our community.
Established in December 2010, the Grande Prairie Auto Group Legacy Foundation Fund was a way for the five dealerships that make up the Grande Prairie Auto Group to give back to the community. The Grande Prairie Auto Group consists of Grande Prairie Chrysler, Grande Prairie Hyundai, Grande Prairie Nissan, Grande Prairie Subaru, and Grande Prairie Volkswagen.
With their existing Donor Advised fund, the Grande Prairie Auto Group have been able to support many causes that are dear to them. Some of the organizations that have benefited from this fund include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie & Area, Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Northwest, Grande Prairie Friendship Centre, Grande Prairie Women’s Residence Association, Grande Prairie Youth Emergency Shelter Society, Kev’s Kids Society, and the Salvation Army.
Outside of the fund, the Grande Prairie Auto Group actively supports the 3D Charity who offers financial assistance to families with seriously ill children.
The Grande Prairie Auto Group Legacy Foundation is a permanent, self-sustaining Endowment Fund. Through the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie, the endowment assets are invested. Each year, a portion of the value of the fund is paid out to support the funds charitable purpose. Any earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the funds market value. In this way, an endowment fund can grow and provide support in perpetuity.
The Greater Grande Prairie Community Foundation is committed to inspiring philanthropy by providing a way for anyone to leave a lasting legacy to our community through permanent endowment building, responsible grants and leadership to meet our community’s needs for today, tomorrow and forever.
Recently, the General Managers of the five dealerships met and expressed their desire to expand upon their existing support by including a Student Award. This award will be available to a resident of the City or County of Grande Prairie who is registered in an Automotive Service Technician program. The individual must demonstrate they have financial need and community mindedness.
The Grande Prairie Auto Group is a proud supporter of the 3D Children’s Charity. Our own General Manager of GP Nissan is a member on the board of Directors. Since 1999, the 3D Charity Hockey Tournament has grown to be the largest 3 on 3 event of it’s kind in the Grande Prairie Region. Students from the Grande Prairie Public, Grande Prairie Catholic and Peace Wapiti School Districts all participate in a weekend tournament that benefits seriously ill children in our community. The Grande Prairie Auto Group is proud to announce that they provided the largest single donation in the charity’s history. Raising just over $27,000.
